RED
2004
SHIRAZ
_______________
Our
2004
Shiraz displays rich fruit and
lush flavors in a wine of intense
depth and structure. The
flavor profile is that of complex
black fruit, particularly blackberry
and black raspberry with lively
spice which heightens the mouthfeel.
Aging in new American and French
oak provides a moderate tannin
structure that elevates the rich
fruit. The
Shiraz was harvested at varying
ranges of ripeness from 3 different
vineyards to provide balance and
depth. We
have blended the Shiraz with 12%
Petite Sirah to enhance fruit
complexity along with 3% Vioignier
which provides dramatic aromatics
of cherry and cassis. Our
2004 Shiraz shows fragrant aromas
of ripe cherry, cassis and raspberry
jam. The
flavors are highlighted by the
blackberry fruit with deep layers
of cherry and plum. The mouthfeel
is lively with lots of spice accenting
the bright fruit and balanced
finish The finish is long and
delicious. In
its youth, this wine offers a
dramatic balance of fruit and
spice in a well balanced framework Enjoy
with juicy steaks, grilled lamb
chops, pasta, BBQ Baby Back Spare
Ribs (put some Shiraz in your
BBQ sauce), pizza, and spicy Mexican
food. We
invite you to enjoy our Fire Station
Red Shiraz and remind you to always
drink responsibly.
